INTRODUCING JACK- PICCADILLY '69

In May 1969, I was 12 years old and flew from Swaziland to London on a trip with my parents. Emerging from Piccadilly Circus tube station, I was wide eyed in wonderment seeing the Eros statue and fountain, whose steps were people-crammed with Patchouli perfumed hippies. The combination of Patchouli oil and petrol from all the traffic, proved an indelible inhalation!

Earl Grey Tea at Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly with it’s Bergamot base, and it’s well worn leather chairs, proved to be a scent complimentary mix.

Seeing the ground breaking musical ‘HAIR’ at the Shaftesbury theatre, featuring full frontal nudity and catching sight of people in see-through clothing in Soho ignited an hormonal ‘rocket’ storm, topped off when Neil Armstrong stepped down from a real one onto the Moon that July.

In 1986, I was cast in ‘WITHNAIL & I’ which was set in London 1969. Patchouli oil was my character’s scent.

I have bottled these heady memories combining Patchouli, Bergamot, Petrol, Ginger and Leather into JACK-PICCADILLY ’69.

When Liberty supremo Ed Burstell inhaled PICCADILLY ’69, he declared – ‘It’s a visceral head rush that I’ve kept going back to... highly addictive.’

Like JACK AND JACK-COVENT GARDEN, the 100ml bottle is sleeved in a Union Jack draw-string calico bag with luggage label attached to personalise once opened.

And as the inscription reads on the base of the packaging – ‘I’ve been led by my nose all my Life. JACK is my signature in scent’.
